Most any modern game is going to have conflict that revolves around some kind of enemy, obstacle or “boss” character. These sections of the game are vital and make up the majority of the conflict-based gameplay that players encounter. That’s why it’s important to make sure that these gameplay elements are well balanced and take full advantage of the player’s abilities to provide a challenge and an entertaining experience. These elements are usually the “meat” or core of the gameplay and make a big difference in how players perceive the game overall. That especially applies to boss fights because players have been spoiled with excellent bosses that are awesome to look at, fun to battle and rewarding to defeat. Your bosses will need to be at least two of those things to be memorable so let’s get to work!
